Álex Mumbrú, new taronja coach for the next three seasons
Valencia Basket has reached
an agreement with Álex Mumbrú (Barcelona,
06/12/1979, 43 years old) to become the head coach of the men's squad of
the taronja entity, with a relationship that will unite the two sides for the
three upcoming seasons, until June 30, 2025. The Catalan coach arrives after
ending his contract with Surne Bilbao Basket after four seasons as coach and
nine previous seasons as a player with the Basque team. Mumbrú took charge of
the Bilbao team immediately after his retirement to achieve promotion from the
LEB Oro in his first year and later lead it in the Endesa League for the last
three seasons, staying on the verge of the playoff this year with a balance of
16 -18.
